I then restart it and now it’s back stuck on the on the screen pictured below again. So then I tried to started by holding in shift R, and then it ultimately came up with the screen with a □ instead of the □. Today it was frozen so I tried to restart it, but it was stuck on this screen screen (below). My iMac has been super slow the past couple months, especially after I put Big Surr on it. If these directions seem too confusing, I'm happy to assist you remotely. It is rare to have accidentally dropped a word or excel file in the applications folder but it does happen. Last step is to go through the applications folder and remove ANY personal items that may have been accidentally stored there.Change the name of the computer to anything else other than any personal name associated to yourself. Go back to system preferences and select "Sharing". Select the third option "delete home folder". After a short wait, you'll see a dropdown window with three options.Hit the minus button in the bottom left of that window.Once at the desktop, go to system preferences now under the new user of course.
